Even though it's hard work physically, I LOVE staging houses! Want to see some rooms of my latest projects?
The kitchen in this home left a little to be desired. However, the homeowners budget didn't allow for new cabinetry.
Instead, I took advantage of the raised panel to add a little interest. The small Fleur de lis wooden pieces were removed, and the holes filled and sanded. The cabinets were then wiped clean with TSP (Trisodium Phosphate), primed and painted with a darker shade of cream/tan with a smooth roller. The exisiting knobs were removed, primed and sprayed with a dark bronze hammered metal paint and re-installed.

Challenge #2 was a need to turn a former den into a new master bedroom.
We started with the large room shown below.
I wanted to create an elegant master bedroom. Using white and blue, I created a luxurious bed with tons of pillows.
The next challenge was an easy one. Create a scene that the buyers can imagine themselves in.
I set up a simple diing table with pale blue, black and white. Check out the table. It was owned by Minnie Pearl! A lady bought it from her estate and decided to sell it recently at my favorite consignment shop. After this picture was made, I switched out the curtains for a blue and white toile pair I found at Goodwill. They add a bit more color.
My first reaction to this great room was that it would be the PERFECT shabby chic room! However... the brass chandelier didn't fit that option and the homeowner didn't want to make a change to the light.
So I did the next best thing... decorate so it blends in. I added black chandelier shades and other furnishings and accessories to add a rich look to the room. the oriental rug, large print, greenery and items in the built-ins draw your eye to the best features of the room - height, built-ins and space.
By the way ... the prior owner used this room as a grand dining room. I'm sure it was fabulous! Can you imagine a supe long dining table in here with a collection of china in the built-in cabinets? Talking about drama!
There were anumber of other challenges. A windown in the child's room overlooking an RV garage. I hung a cute quilt on the wall to cover the window and add color. I also added a romantic place to dine on the sun porch.
